There is the Calendar menu, which I'm not really sure what you're going to use it for.
I also wanted to let people know that if you want your post on the front page, there are a few things you have to follow:
First make sure you have an image attached to your post. The Image must be bigger than 300 pixels in width (?). I don't know the exact pixels, but I know that the image must be big.
The post must be under approved "Gates". For instance, the Tech Gate is an example of one of the approved gates.
I'm fairly new to commongate and I've seen a lot of different styles of posting. Some people take a post from somewhere else; blog, site, newsletter etc. and just repost. Others craft what seems more like a commentary mixed with reference links. I guess it depends on the post and the gate it's going too, but I just wanted to see what people out there think. Are we looking for posts to express a viewpoint or just as a way to collect relevant info from a variety of sources? Crediting and referencing sources is a given of course.
I recently started using Revver to post my vids and embed them in my Gate's blog. I like the quality of the compression and the tools they give you for each clip after you upload it. We'll see if it actually creates rev(enue). But it seems to have a leg up on youtube for the future.
Don't click on the links. Of course, I did click and it said "Server not found", but be safe and don't click.
I honestly do like that feature that allows non-registered users to leave comments. I suppose those 'CAPTCHA' technology won't be far behind? If you're not familiar with this, Captcha asks you to key in the message in an image (most blog or digg asks to verify if you're human and not robotic spammers).
A simple pen and paper drawing, nothing too techy. I had a few hours to kill at work (and they haven't blocked this site yet.)
I'm not sure what to classify this under, so I'm putting it on the commongate addiction section.
PS, I should add that I don't use pencils or do outlines. I do make minor mistakes, but I usually cover that up with large black ink area. You can see a sample of how I do pen drawings on my front page with "le Crocodile".
